5 Things You Should Know About Kinky Curly Hair

Fashion

Curly hair is beautiful, seductive, and incredibly strong. People always say that curly hair is hard to manage. Well, the truth is you can’t tame it, but you can get great haircuts and take care of your curls to help them grow beautifully longer. Here are 5 things we have learned in my life with Kinky Curly Hair, which could be helpful for curly girls everywhere.

Keep your routines short.

Kinky curly hair can be a bit tricky to manage, but there are some things you can do to make it easier. If you’re used to washing and conditioning your hair daily, try washing with a clarifying shampoo once or twice a week instead. This will help remove any buildup that might otherwise weigh down the curls and cause frizz. Follow up with conditioner, so your strands don’t get too dried.

Use oils to add shine and softness.

One of the best ways to keep kinky curly hair looking healthy is by using natural oils regularly. These oils will not only add shine and softness but also help protect against heat damage and breakage caused by styling tools like blow dryers and flat irons. Try using coconut oil when styling curly hair and moisturizing it post-shower — apply it directly onto damp strands before drying them off with a microfiber towel or cotton t-shirt (more on that in a second!). You can also use argan oil if you want something lighter than coconut oil — just put a few drops in after styling so it doesn’t weigh down.

Invest in a microfiber towel

You’ll need something gentle enough not to rough up your locks but strong enough to absorb water without damaging them further. Microfiber towels are ideal because they’re absorbent and won’t leave lint behind! They’re also great for removing excess water from your skin after showering or bathing.

Microfiber towels absorb water quickly without breaking down like cotton towels, which makes them ideal for drying kinky curly hair without causing frizziness or breakage from rubbing too hard against wet curls when toweling off after washing your face or showering). Plus, it helps remove excess water from your curls without damaging them further.

Choose the right products.

Curly hair is beautiful and versatile. You can wear it straight or curly, up or down, and in various styles. However, the right products are essential to making your curls look their best.

Using the wrong ones can weigh down your curls or make them curly, so choosing products that work with your hair type is important. For example, if you have kinky curly hair like mine, you probably want a product that will define and smooth out the curl while still leaving some volume at the roots.

Use a leave-in conditioner.

Leave-in conditioners are designed to moisturize your hair without weighing it down or making it feel greasy. They’re perfect for curly hair because they soften each strand without making it look limp or flat. I use one by Moroccanoil (the brand I’ve used for years) after shampooing and conditioning my strands and leaving it in as I let my hair air dry. But if you want to use something else, make sure it’s silicone-free! Silicones coat each strand, so they won’t produce as much oil as usual and will start feeling dry sooner.

Conclusion

Many people with curly hair don’t know how to take care of it; they think they need to get a perm or keep it straight to avoid frizz. Curly hair is unique, as you can create various hairstyles with it such as braids, passion twist hair, and many more, therefore you should develop a relationship with your hairdresser if possible.
