Jessie Coffield is a Boston native and one of the top college lacrosse players in the country. She won the John Morrow Stanton Athletic Award and helped the Alexandria Sportsmen Club win three VISLA state championships during her high school career. She also played field hockey.

Born on October 15, 1990 in Boston, Massachusetts, Jessie Coffield is the daughter of William and Kristen Coffield. She has one sister, Virginia, and a brother, William. Jessie’s family is close and she loves to spend time with her parents.

Jessie Coffield started playing sports at a very young age, playing PeeWee soccer at age five. She would break the line and score goals, even when the other kids were piling on. After she finished her PeeWee soccer career, she joined the boys’ Little League, where she played leadoff. Despite her small size, she was fast, agile, and possessed a fire for the game.

The National Lacrosse Federation has announced its first list of the top 50 college lacrosse players. To qualify for this list, players must play for a club or represent their school at the NLF Opening Weekend or the NCAA Division I Championship. The list was compiled from in-person evaluations and consultations with college and club coaches. The rankings highlight a number of players who have excelled on and off the field, especially on defense.

English was already a top defender at Culver Military Academy, and he showed off his scoring ability in 2021, leading the Culver Eagles to a 13-2 record and a No. 10 ranking in the nation. He was named Nike / USA Lacrosse Magazine Midwest Boys’ Player of the Year. His performance was compared to that of Kawhi Leonard, the NBA superstar who has a similar style.

Griffin Schutz

Griffin Schutz is ranked as the top recruit in the 2021 class by Inside Lacrosse. He played four years of high school lacrosse at Deerfield Academy, and was a team captain. While he was at Deerfield, Schutz decided to take up weightlifting as a way to improve his game.

Griffin Schutz is one of the top players in the incoming class at Virginia. He is also one of the top defensemen in the country. After a stellar sophomore season, Will Angrick made the leap from prep school to the collegiate level. His improved size, agility and speed helped him step into a larger role for the Hoyas. With 41 goals and 18 assists, Angrick was named the Nike/USA Lacrosse Mid-Atlantic Boys’ Player of the Year. His dazzling season propelled Georgetown Prep to a No. 4 national ranking and a first IAC championship in four years.

The Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team finished the regular season in fourth place. Despite missing out on the postseason, the team won six consecutive games. This included victories over No. 1 seed Maryland and No. 2 seed Georgetown. They also tied for the ACC regular-season title with Maryland.
